They have mouths but they're not screaming

On June 2, 2003 Michael Powell and the FCC are likely to allow corporate concentration of media that should all but obliterate diversity of content. And as was pointed out on This Modern World, none of the right wing are complaining.

If the media were liberal, as people like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly and the other mouths claim, you'd have to assume they'd be screaming about the concentration of ownership like it was the end of the world. Since they are all silent on the subject it does seem to confirm that the SCLM (so-called liberal media) are really just the opposite. This is why we've had FOX acting as a war promoter and Clear Channel organizing pro-war rallies and creating the controversy around the Dixie Chicks. And have a look at a diagram of the Clear Channel/Bush connections.

It's ironic that the United States, which claims to have a free press, uses tax dollars to fund government attempts to control and destroy dissenting views whereas the United Kingdom, with its government-funded press, has become the gold standard of journalistic integrity in the world.
