There is a problem of killer kites in Pakistan. It seems people are being killed by fighting kites that have their strings made deadly:
Several people have had their throats cut this year by strings that are either metallic or coated with abrasive materials.
Two things in this report strike me as amazing. One, the police are only now going to treat such deaths as murder cases. Secondly, why are so many people flying kites within crowded city areas? I've always looked for an open field. Although maybe that's a geo-cultural bias of mine, living in the part of the United States that's neither New York nor Los Angeles.
