Flood the zone, dilute the astroturf
Republicans have organized efforts to have their minions send letters to news outlets, pretending to be just ordinary folks concerned about stuff. The truth is these letters are based on templates found at the GOP site(s). Media are duped into printing/airing these, creating a false sense of support for GOP talking points. This practice is known as astroturfing.
Not Geniuses has come up with the idea to use the GOP organizational efforts against them, relying on the easy-to-get contact information so those of us in the majority can have our voices heard in the media.
The plan is to post some of our own talking points every Friday, and have us let corporate media know what we think. So visit Not Geniuses on Fridays and help fight the good fight.
