Cheese-eating surrender monkeys and chocolate makers

There seems to be no limit to the depth of insult handed out by the “adults” who are supposedly in charge of this country. Well, okay, the Bush Administration didn't insult the French with that Simpsons phrase. But the Republicans did waste our tax dollars renaming things to freedom fries and freedom toast.

To see State Department spokesperson Richard Boucher insult our NATO allies so bluntly with the chocolate makers crack is very undiplomatic. I thought Colin Powell's State Department was supposed to be the most sane group of the Bush Administration. Apparently the whole bunch is so dysfunctional that it has become some sort of weird Lord of the Flies society behind the curtains of media spin.

To put all of this insulting treatment in proper context, Uggabugga has provided a handy European map based on the State Department's internal guidelines.

Or maybe they're letting George Can-we-play-dress-up-again Bush give out the nicknames.
