They really are lying liars

Bush's evening of propaganda did not go over well. His speech failed to impress anyone, regardless of the party affiliation. Oh, unless you happen to be the main component of his propaganda machine. Let's compare and contrast, shall we?

Here's what Howard Dean said, according to CNN:

Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, the early front-runner for the Democratic nomination, called Bush's remarks “nothing short of outrageous.”

“In 15 minutes, he attempted to make up for 15 months of misleading the American people and 15 weeks of mismanaging the reconstruction,” he said.

You can verify the quote on Howard Dean's official site.

Even the Moonie Times (background) and GOPUSA got it right.

And then there's Fox News, just making shit up:

“It is nothing short of outrageous that the president spent 15 minutes trying to make up for 15 months of mismanagement,” Dean said. Bush is “clutching at straws of misinformation.”

I am not a rigorously-trained journalist but apparently I have more respect for the written word than the hacks at Fox. I learned in school putting things in quotes indicates a direct record of the actual words. Do the people at Fox think they are writing a work of fiction? They really must subscribe to the Soviet-style notion of falsifying the record of history to control peoples' views.

Fox News: Wholly Without Merit.
