I am not one of them

Today, like most every Saturday, I took the dogs to the dog park. Since it was hot and windy today we were gone for a short time, maybe half an hour or so. As we turned onto our block to return home, I was met with a horrific site—five of the eight houses on my side of the block put Bush/Cheney lawn signs up in that time! It's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, where people are taken over by pods overnight. Or perhaps it's more like The Twilight Zone episode The Monsters are Due on Maple Street. My neighbors are nice people but I can't imagine how they can support Bush and what has become of this country. Perhaps they are all so afraid of terrorists (the "monsters") that they are irrationally supporting the government-as-father-figure, no matter how bad the government has been.

Not to be daunted, I will now proudly display a Kerry/Edwards lawn sign. I will also start flying an American flag, because I do not want anyone to believe it is solely the flag of the Republican Party. I want my country back!
