Architect of Torture confirmed

Good news, bad news. Alberto Gonzales, the Architect of Torture, has been confirmed as Attorney General for the country that pretends it stands for freedom and liberty. That's the bad news. The good news is that the fanatical, gun-loving, sex-obsessed John Ashcroft is no longer in charge of law enforcement in this country. Funny thing about Bush, he has chosen two extremely incompetent men to fill the post of Attorney General. Ashcroft was a sad excuse for a lawyer, repeatedly showing no understanding of the law. Gonzales has proved to be sloppy and incompetent as a legal adviser to Bush, both in the White House and in Texas where he helped send many people to a speedy death at the hand of the executioner.

There actually was some good news about the confirmation process. Only six Democrats voted for Gonzales. The Democrats who voted against Gonzales voted to uphold the ideals America was founded on. The Democrats who voted for Gonzales betrayed their duty to their party and country. And the Republicans who voted for Gonzales put their party before their country. Shame on them.
